Study Overview:
K9inSCENTIVE was contracted to acquire and train an effective mold scent detection dog team for LA-based residential mold inspector, based The Mold Scout. An appropriate working canine, a springer spaniel named Kirby, was identified, evaluated and acquired. Training was conducted on the scent of various selected mold species. The dog was verified in a double-blind trial to test scent recognition. Once the dog was trained and tested, the handler was educated and paired with Kirby. The team then learned to work effectively together to pass another double-blind trial for validation conducted by k9inSCENTive. In the long-term, ongoing training and quality control services are being supplied for the dog and handler
